Remote Texas Telescope

October 14, 2016

Our Planewave 17″ telescope, once the centerpiece of SC Observatory, has made it to its new home in Fort Davis, Texas after a stop in West Virginia for testing. This f/6.8 telescope will be mounted on an Astrophysics 1100GTO mount and is paired with an FLI PL16803 camera.

The setup will be remotely operated with a small group of astro friends in the USA. The hope is that we will be able to supplement image data taken here in Thailand, as well as have some processing opportunities during our rainy season.

Here is the Planewave (front right) in its new Texas home.
